our DESIGNER

“I grew up in Athens but as a professional Figure Skater, spent time in Russia for training and travelled extensively internationally for competitions throughout my childhood. As a highlight of my Athletic career, after winning First place at the Junior Olympics, I Preformed in the Ancient Greek Panathenaic Stadium for the Ceremony of the handing over of the Olympic flame. At the age of 18 I moved to London where I studied Architecture and Engineering. After testing the waters in the working environment of Architecture I moved to the fast paced world of fashion working amongst some of the greatest creative minds of design between London, Paris and NY.

My love for the sea lead me back to Greece and my summer destination, Mýkonos. Looking for my own new beginning, by combining my past experiences and knowledge with my natural love for the beach, my brand DIDA was born. The swimwear designs are inspired by the female figure and technically replicate the intricate, functional costumes I wore on the ice rink as a figure skater. All of DIDAs collections focus on complimenting the female body. The designs are carefully tailored to accentuate and flatter the body's natural curves, elongating the legs and shaping the waistline without compromising comfort.

Mykonos continues to be my home for the summer, where I have my studio by the beach creating unique pieces and showcasing DIDAs designs.”

OUR BRAND

Established by Dimitra Tzima Tsitampani, DIDA is a Swim and Resort wear brand designed internationally and handcrafted in Greece with European fine fabrics and the utmost attention to detail, from the hand picked French lace to the silver logo on each swimsuit.

The brand has been created with versatility in mind and comes from the belief that resort wear should not just be worn by the water. Instead, DIDAs collections feature feminine and refined silhouettes with creations that are essential style companions and can effortlessly take you from day to night. Mixing elegant designs with sporty-casual styling, Tzima reinterprets fashion paradoxes to compose easy-to-ear yet graceful collections with modern day-to-night looks. Our mission is to make each woman feel beautiful and confident by embracing simplicity and highlighting her own natural beauty.

DIDA is a part of the slow-fashion movement, promoting conscious lifestyle choices through its sustainable and ethical production process. Sustainability is ensured by the longevity of the designs and by investing on high quality natural materials like Silks and Cottons for our clothing. We eliminate, where possible, the use of non-recyclable harmful to the environment materials using recycled polyamide for our swimwear collections. DIDAs fabrics are sourced from small family run mills and eco-friendly mills and all collections are manufactured by artisans and local small productions supporting ethical practices and valuing the work of the collections creators.

OUR SHAPES & FIT

LINES for your Line

Our swimwear's flattering lines are designed to fit, look and feel great, to empower women when they can feel at their most self-conscious. These include clean structural lines that follow the waistline, and give it a slimmer elegant appearance visually.

You will also find high above-the-hip rise bottoms, which will elongate your legs and lace on the hips to make you feel elegant before taking the plunge or while dancing while the sun sets.

Based around the concept that you could wear it from day at the beach to night, it aims to blur the boundaries between a playful afternoon with a more seductive evening.

OUR MATERIALS

We love the planet and do everything possible to protect it. We source ethically produced materials from all around the world.

Our Swimwear Fabrics are made of recycled plastics removed from the sea along with other waste. For each kg of fiber produced, one kg of plastic is removed from the ocean. Our Polyamide and Polyester Production is collaborating with the SEAQUAL initiative collecting plastic that is caught in fishermen nets and Q-NOVA that ethically sources nylon 6,6 fibre obtained from recycled raw materials, an extremely environmentally friendly product which meets specific traceability requirements and aims to reduce CO2 emissions and consume less water. They then turn the recycled plastic into yarn used in our fabrics retaining the same quality and properties as the processed virgin polyester and polyamide fibers are kept that give that unique cotton-feel finish.

Our Swimwear Laces are sourced from a small family-run workshop in France whose production respects precise specifications, and strives to achieve the best quality. All our laces are certified by OEKO-TEX and meet the REACH standards requirements.

Our Swimwear Lining is DIDAs secret ingredient with its ultra-lightweight, impalpable, extra soft, silk-touch finish that makes our designs feel like second skin and dry extremely fast. Thanks to its shape recovery power, it doesn’t curl and doesn’t shrink and it ensures always the best fit.

Our Clothing Fabrics & Fibers are all-natural, non-synthetic raw materials grown in a sustainable manner, including Silk, Linen, Cotton, Cupro, Viscose and some from renewable and recycled Rayon and Polyester. The majority of fabrics is also sourced locally within Greece.

OUR PRODUCTION & OUR TEAM

DIDA is a slow-fashion brand with the belief that a wardrobe should consist of high-quality, timeless and environmentally conscious pieces. the brand follows the principles of Couture and is guided by the the three-dimensional element of the female figure, allowing women to wear cut-away pieces whilst feeling supported.
